Robert Denton is named at the SHIP in 1868, in 1871 his address is Lower Cliff Road and Pier Road in 1872.

Thomas Osborne applied 24th July 1876 for transfer of the licence of the THREE HERRINGS to this address where Robert Denton was then in occupation.

Thomas Osborne is at the COFFEE HOUSE, High Street in 1875, he is a beer retailer at Lowestoft Road in 1877.

On Thursday 21st August 1884, Thomas Osborne, landlord of the Albion Beerhouse, applied for the licence of the RED LION, Middlegate Street to be transferred to the Albion.
The Albion was in an increasing neighbourhood and it was understood that the tramway would soon be built past the house. Both houses were owned by Steward & Patteson. Application granted.
