Charles Howard applied for a spirit licence Monday 6th September 1869 having spent £500 on the premises in anticipation of the grant.
The magistrates immediately refused the application by a large majority.

On Thursday 28th August 1873, removal of the spirit licence from the PRINCE ALBERT to this house, was approved.

Mr. W. Treadwell was summoned 22nd June 1883 for non payment of the poor rate. He had not paid because he believed the rate for the house to be too high. The Magistrates ordered him to pay and to take up the matter with the Assessment Committee.
