Same as SHAKESPEARE'S HEAD given 1819 ?

Reported to the magistrates September 1852 as one of five houses in the town which were continually open to an unreasonably late hour.

Converted into a toy shop by 1869.

Note : In the 1863 Cobb directory the ROSE & THISTLE is given in King Street with Thomas Bullimore as licensee. However White places Mr. Bullimore here at the SHAKESPEARE in the same year. It appears that Mr. Bullimore moved from the Shakespeare to the Rose & Thistle, Gaol Street in 1863 and the King Street address is in error.
