John Ely advertised December 1857 that "if you wish for a Glass of Good Ale, try the Splendid Sparkling XXXX Suffolk Ale, at the Crystal Fountain."
Mr. Ely was the sole Agent for the sale of the XXXX Suffolk Ale in Lynn.

As the FOUNTAIN 1865 and in the Licence Registers from 1872.

Address given as Blackfriars Road in 1860's.

Lot number 6 in the sale of the estate of the late Mr Philip Pipe.
Described as having well arranged cellars and
an entrance to Clough Lane.
(Lot 1 of the same sale was the ROSE, South Street )
Purchased by Mr F J Carpenter for £840,
plus £38/12/- for fittings.

 

Named 31st August 1916, as an Alehouse, subject to closure by compensation.
So likely to have closed in 1917.
