On Friday 20th May 1955, Benjamin Arthur Roper returned to his native Costessey after only being at the house for three months. The licence was transferred to brewery representative Jack Sparkes and a manager was put in place until a new tenant could be found.

Bullards letter dated 16.01.1958 states that house closed during the Summer of 1957and had been sold.
