The Punch Bowl
c1918

Daniel Reeve purchased a property on this site in January 1774.
It seems it was redeveloped by c1800 as a public house, initially called the ADAM & EVE. In 1815 it was referenced as being lately called the Adam & Eve and now under the sign of the Punch Bowl.
A yearly rent of £23 had been paid since 1801.

The house is recorded in the Licensing Registers as holding a full licence. It appears however that the house only ever operated as a beerhouse.

Licence NOT Applied for at Sessions 06.02.1959

It appears that Dorothy Freezer may have subsequently transferred to the New Inn - To be confirmed.
