As ADMIRAL NELSON 1854, 1872 & 1877

As at Burnham Market 1830, 1900, 1904, 1933, 1937 & 1996

On Sunday 6th September 1885, Mr. Charles Neal, of the Lord Nelson had collected the Rev. James Tarbuck, Curate of Bagthorpe, from his residence in Stanhoe, to conduct the morning service at Burnham Overy Church. The horse stepped on a stone and fell, throwing the occupants from the vehicle. The Reverend was not severely injured, but Mr. Neal suffered a severely lacerated face, a broken rib and many bruises. Well shaken and receiving a severe shock to the system, he was confined to his bed in a very precarious state.

Damaged by enemy action 7th April 1942
