Landlord Charlie Wicks issued a publicity booklet in the 1920's.
It contained the description:-
`Professionally known as Trumpet Major Wicks from his time in service with the 1st Norfolk Artillery Volunteers from 1894 to 1903.
A Poultry and Pigeon specialist, judge and expert.
Livestock Manager and partner in Wicks Brothers'.
