Thomas Baker appears in a list of licensees, dated August 1871, whose licence required (non-detailed) attention.

Thomas Baker died 7th November 1882.
Amongst his possessions (as recorded 21st November 1882) were : - In the parlour, 2 oil paintings and 6 prints, 2 fireside chairs........ In the Club room, 3 tables, 5 forms (1 with back), 4 trestles, 2 baskets, 3 forks, a Chaff Engine ( ! ) .....In the Storeroom, 150 pieces earthenware, a sausage block (?), 3 dozen knives & forks.....In the Passage & Cellar, 4 beer pails, 3 pewter mugs, 29 glasses, 26 jugs & mugs, 16 stone bottles....In the Kitchen, 6 chairs, Fender, Fire irons, 2 forms, clock, 2 tables, 7 spittoons.....In the Washhouse, 6 chairs, 2 boilers, kettle, bellows......The Sleeping Room included a bedstead with Feather mattress, 2 chests with draws, clock, 6 chairs, 3 prints....Bedroom No 2 included a featherbed and 5 chairs, The 3rd bedroom also had a feather bed, 5 chairs and a weaving appliance. Outside was everything from a broom & shovel to a wheelbarrow.
A total value of £69/6/6d was assigned to the assets.
Mr Bakers will was proved 9th December 1882 at a total value of £343/3/6d - From which £13/19/0d was deducted for funeral expenses
