Modernised in 1954 and again in 1969 when the lounge bar was extended to
three times its original size. Inside lavatories were built and central
heating installed.
A microwave oven installed to serve fast food.
The lounge bar, known as the Robin Hood lounge ` is particularly bright
and gay with green carpets, blue furniture, red curtains and natural wood
panelling.'
