Guy Hagon testified 23rd August 1881 that Henry Jones stole ½lb of tobacco from the premises on 22nd August 1881.
Jones had entered the bar at about half past ten.
` I saw him lift the lid and put it back again - I asked him what he was about and he replied ``Nothing'' '.

The outcome of this case has yet to be uncovered - RB
