Prior to 1869 all occupants are described as millers.
Beer sales first mentioned 1869.

The post mill was dismantled in 1869 and sold.
In 1872 Windmill House is recorded as formerly the Mill Inn.

On Tuesday 4th February 1873, Stephen White sued Edward Palmer for the sum of 11s 1d, the value of drink he had delivered to Mrs. Palmer in 1870.
White admitted that every drink that Mr. Palmer had ever ordered had been paid for, Mr. Palmer, a dealer, said that he knew nothing of the claimed outstanding amount until he had sent Mr. White an account for 10s.
His Honour decided that under the circumstances he could not allow the claim and the case was struck out.
