An auction by Order of the major part of the Commissioners named and
authorised in and by a Commission of Bankrupt awarded and issued against
Wacey Dunham of Sedgeford.... was held here 30th October 1782
This was an auction of 4 lots including a Farmhouse, Cottages, many acres
of land, a Malthouse and Cottage, a messuage divided into 2 dwellings,
Orchard, etc...
A second auction of 6 other substantial was to be held the following day
at the HARE ARMS, Sedgeford.
This all suggests that the SHIP was
an important house.
