1883 directory gives the both the Magpie and the Sir Robert Peel entries under
Mendham and also at Redenhall-with-Harleston.
The Red Lion appears to be a different house to the Red Lion at Harleston.
Up to 1892 Mendham is given as partly in Norfolk but principally in
Suffolk. By 1896 it is fully contained within the Suffolk border. |
