Charles Dade was previously a
superannuated policeman and by the influence of a cook
working for the brewers, S&P, he was appointed landlord of
the Sun Inn. On Monday 22nd January 1900 the cook sued for a
breach of promise (to marry) and was awarded £25 damages. Dade did not
appear at the hearing and it was later discovered he
had committed suicide by hanging, at
Reepham, earlier in the day. |
