c1900
George Boddy was accused of assaulting Mary Frost when summoned before the
magistrates 17th May 1845. Houghton, the sheriff's officer had accompanied
Frost to the house to remove goods according to an alleged agreement. The
defendant had resisted any proceeding of the kind and a scuffle had ensued.
Several witnesses entirely contradicted Houghton's statement and the case
was dismissed.
Renamed the UNION
JACK following the outbreak of the First World War.
The Licence Registers give the date of renaming as
01.02.1915 |
