Part of the Union Brewery Estate, offered for sale by auction Wednesday 25th July 1866 but after only reaching £300, remained unsold.

Part of the Union Brewery Estate, advertised for sale by Private Contract, August 1866.

The property of the late Mr. C. Boucher, sold to Mr. G. Mills, Brewer of Downham, by April 1871.
Licence refused at the previous licensing meeting since the rateable value was under £8.
The Dray & Horses at Tilney St. Lawrence had been purchased at the same time and Mr. Mills was prepared to spend £150 on the two,  in order to improve the properties, but could only do that if the magistrates were prepared to grant new licenses. The magistrates refused to give such a guarantee.

On Monday 4th September 1871 it was said that the value of the property had been raised and licence renewal was requested.
Application refused.
