The house of Absalom Lee, Watch-maker and Beer-house Keeper, with Garden and Appurtenances, was offered For Sale by Auction, Monday, 20th March 1841.

On Monday 25th August 1873, William Armes was charged by Police-constable Smith of keeping the house open, on 8th August, after ten o'clock in the night. Fine of 5s and 8s 6d costs and a caution.

Messrs. Eyre & Co applied Tuesday 7th February 1905 for the licence to be transferred to a new house since the existing one was in a bad condition and totally unfit for the purposes intended.

Licence of the BELL reported 10th February 1906 as having been transferred during the previous year to a newly erected house.
