It was reported 25th February 1843 that Mrs. Bagster had been assaulted by lodger Mr. Osborne, by him opening a door with great vehemence and knocking her across the width of the room. Her husband was away ay the time. Hearing that the landlady had originally slammed the door in the face of the lodger as he asked to return his key to her husband, it was stated that the landlady was a violent and ill-tempered woman. In consequence, the Magistrates dismissed the case.

Demolished c1870 and rebuilt, to reopen under the name of the
LAME DOG.
