Licence referred to Compensation Authority 04.02.1905.

On Thursday 9th February 1905 the Chief Constable objected to licence renewal because the house provided insufficient accommodation and was not needed by the public.
The house had only two small rooms, one being 9ft by 12ft and the other 18ft by 12ft. The back door was boarded off and there was a small yard of only 6ft by 4ft. The house was fully licensed but only sold beer. Eight other (licensed) houses were within 145 yards the nearest was 45 yards away.
At the time the house was visited, the tenant, Mr. Hunt, was engaged working upstairs and had advised the Chief Constable that the Brewery paid for both the licence and the rate. In consideration he was charged more for his beer. He had taken out a tobacco licence himself. As far as he was aware the Brewery only took out a beer licence.
Licence renewal refused.

Licence extinguished 11.01.1906 and closed as a public house.
