Nelson Street was previously known as Lath Street.

A building is known to have been standing on this site in the late 1400's.

Building substantially rebuilt by the mid 1500's.

Possibly an inn from the late 1600's.

Appears in the 1728 Sessions Minutes.

Building offered for sale by the Ecclesiastical Commissioners from c1869. Purchased by Thomas Edward Bagge in 1885.
