The building dates from c1800 and is reputed to have been built on  the site of an inn.

First licensed 27.08.1894 as the WEST CLIFF HOTEL ,
with condition that there was to be No Public Bar.

Later known as the REGENCY HOTEL and then as CRABS by 7th August 1980. Closed 1985 to reopen as the DOLPHIN c1988
