A proposal was made to the town planners November 1997 to convert a former railway station (Closed by British Rail in 1960's) into a bar, rather than let it be demolished to allow a supermarket development.

The proposal to turn the old station into a "Theme Restaurant and Bar" was approved by the Town Planners January 1998.

£250,000 said to be spent on renovation of the station building prior to the opening Summer 1998.

Renamed THE STATION HOUSE 2008

Reopened December 2009 as BUDDIES BAR.

Renamed No. 98 November 2011 - a cocktail bar.

Renamed BOUNCERS early 2013 .
