Advertised 27th July 1782 - To Let, with Barns, Stables, and Outhouses, Lands, Meadows and Pastures. In occupation of William Pruer at the yearly rent of £95. Entry to be at Old Michaelmas.


In 1836 it was said that there were a few scattered houses and 112 inhabitants. Only named trades were David Norton, shopkeeper and Edward Sheldrake, farmer. By 1854 the population of Gasthorpe was said to be 103 inhabitants, 18 houses and 825 acres of land owned by Thomas Thornhill Esq.
