Originally called the PRINCE OF WALES.

William Kilburn applied for a full licence Tuesday 24th August 1869 which, according to the Norwich Mercury,  was granted to the PRINCE OF WALES.

First licensed as the PRINCESS OF WALES in 1869.

Mr. Corrick applied for a new music licence 22nd August 1898. Having been for many years a guard on the Great Eastern Railway, he had obtained, about twelve months previous when he took on the house, a music and singing licence for a railway servants' club on Friday evenings, . Wishing to extend the licence to allow Saturday concerts. Although said to be a respectable man, his application was refused.

Robert Allen had his right leg amputated following blood poisoning, caused by a cut on his big toe. Being a keen cyclist he had a tricycle made and on Wednesday 1st September 1909 he tried out the machine for the first time. After a short ride in the yard he fell forward on the handle bars and died. He was aged 60 years.  "Death from natural causes".
