9th October 1765 - An auction sale held at the ROSE TAVERN, near the RED WELL, occupied by Jonathan Gleed.

The Norfolk Chronicle of 13th July 1776 advertised....

` A sale by auction of a Mansion House ..
... at the house of Mr. Jonathan Gleed, the ROSE TAVERN, near the RED WELL in Norwich......'

Another sale was held here Saturday 28th September 1776. It included a Malting Office, situated just without Bishop-Gates, with a fifty Comb Steep and adjoining Dwelling-house. Details available from Mr. Isaac Jackson at Lakenham, or his Brewing Office in Conisford Street, or from baker John Wagstaffe in St. Mary's Parish.

The Creditors of Levi Barlow, Merchant, deceased, were to meet here Tuesday 11th February 1777.
