Ann, the wife of John Ashley of the Ship, died Thursday 3rd November 1831, age 39.

Mr. Ashley, late of the Ship Inn, King Street Gates, married Mrs Brockall of St. Andrew's, Norwich during the 2nd week of February, 1834.

John Ashley, "for many years landlord of the Dreadnought", died 25th December 1835, age 58. At the time he was in Magdalen Street.

Also listed 1842 & 1856 as the DREADNOUGHT.

Stood near the CINDER OVENS and the licence was removed to that house in 1874.

House acquired by Colmans (as in mustard) in 1864.
