Lot 2 in a sale of 18 lots held Tuesday 12th May 1840 at the Bull Inn, Magdalen Street.
Then described as a substantial brick and tiled Dwelling House, late the SQUIRREL Public House, containing a large room or broker's shop, back room, small wash-house with soft water laid in; three chambers and two attics, a small stable, two small warehouses. The lot in the occupation of Mr. Thomas Howes at the very low rent of £10 and well suited for trade, being near the Cattle Market and in the most frequent entrance to it.
