Arthur Payne was accused Tuesday, 19th March 1907 of having allowed drunkenness on 9th March.
In defence it was claimed that the person seen by Sergeant Christie, to be huddled up in a chair, was not drunk but excited, since he had been endeavouring to get those in the bar to debate women's suffrage.
Case dismissed.

Damaged by enemy action 27/29.04.1942.
