Tuesday 20th March 1888 - Fine of £2 for allowing drunkenness in his house on 15th February, at about mid-day. (Charles Syder had visited the inn and it was claimed that he had five glasses of beer or ale whilst there. Although witnesses said he was sober when he left the house, the Bench disagreed. Mr. Syder later died, having fallen from his wagon, which was pulled by three horses. Mr. Syder had called at the Sun, Wymondham in the afternoon where he had twopennyworth of rum.
