30/01/2020 - Robert Maidstone advises :-  In the Tithe Commutation register of 1839/40 a John Harrison was recorded as the owner of plot 165, being the site of the Poor Cottages, and the tenant of plot 37, cottage and garden on Church road opposite the Church. Both John and his wife appear in the 1841 Census for Wacton as Harris but are recorded as Harrison at their deaths at Wacton in 1847 and 1860 respectively...... it would suggest the premises mentioned being licensed to John Harris in 1836 was opposite Wacton Church.
